Case description
On October 25, 1973, residents near West Leisenring in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, reported a large red luminous object above a farm. Stan Gordon's account places the initial observation at about 9 p.m. and describes numerous people seeing the light. A smaller group approached the pasture and reported two very tall, hairy figures near a fence.
The main witness, later identified in published material by the pseudonym Stephen Pulaski, said that he fired at the figures and that the luminous object disappeared. Police attended afterward, and Gordon's investigation team arrived after midnight. The team's later observations, including the witness's disturbed or trance-like behavior, were separate from the original sighting.
Berthold Schwarz interviewed participants and reviewed recordings during a subsequent visit. A reported association between the light and figures does not independently establish that the figures came from an aircraft. The plate depicts the initial pasture observation, excluding gunfire and later altered-state imagery.
