Case description
On October 26, 1973, the Kingwood police chief and two fire-tower observers reportedly watched a light cavorting over Caddell Mountain for several hours. The account places this activity in the Kingwood–Terra Alta area of West Virginia, amid the wider autumn 1973 wave. It describes lights rather than a resolved, solid vehicle.
Terra Alta police officer Willard Zinn, driving home on a mountain road, reportedly encountered a four-foot figure covered in long, fuzzy brown or greenish hair as it darted across his path. He skidded into a ditch. The two fire observers then joined him, and the three men said they saw a very bright, silent, reddish-white light pass overhead at treetop height.
Albert Rosales attributes this sequence to David Webb's 1973 humanoid survey. The roadside figure and overhead light were associated by timing, but nobody is described seeing the creature enter or leave a craft. No detailed face or physical specimen is recorded. The plate combines the crossing and aerial observations while showing only the reported light, rather than inventing a spaceship. The imported designation 'Western Virginia' is a normalization error: the state is West Virginia.
