Case description
Witnesses in the Piña neighbourhood of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, reportedly saw a low-flying oval object on November 2, 1973. Noel Rigau’s account, republished in translation by Inexplicata, describes nearly silent movement and a silvery glow. The apparently human pilot wore an unusual helmet and goggles and made waving or gesturing movements visible to the observers.
The object hovered for several minutes as though preparing to descend, then turned sharply right and departed northward. Witnesses said they subsequently found warm, ash-like dust on the ground. Rigau specifically states that his investigation did not obtain a sample. The dust remains a reported observation, without an analysed specimen establishing its composition or origin.
Later that night, Andrés Acevedo in neighbouring Quebrada Cruz reportedly saw an object heading north, with upper and lower lights and two antenna-like projections. That was a separate sighting. The imported Atlas abstract combines an antenna-bearing silver ovoid, a waving occupant and falling powder; the fuller source separates the antenna report and does not establish that investigators watched powder fall. The plate follows the Piña encounter, with a human-looking helmeted figure and nearby observers, without treating the separate reports as one continuous witnessed flight.
