Case description
A taxi driver identified as Mr Foster reportedly picked up an unusual passenger in Greenville, South Carolina, during the early hours of 11 November 1973, commonly given as about 02:30. The destination was the local intersection called Greasy Corners. The account survives in David Webb's 1976 compilation and INTCAT, with references to information from M. Pine and Ted Bloecher rather than a recovered first-person transcript.
The passenger was said to stand only about 3 feet, or one metre, tall. It wore a light-brown coverall, gloves, gold-coloured boots and gold buttons on the chest. Its head appeared otherwise featureless except for what the witness interpreted as either goggles or unusually large eyes. At the end of the trip it allegedly paid with a one-dollar bill whose normally green side looked painted yellow. The source does not establish what became of that note or provide an authenticated photograph of it.
These details describe a strange fare, not a witnessed landing. No spacecraft, arrival from a vehicle, abduction or medical encounter was reported. The uncertainty between goggles and eyes is especially important: a familiar modern alien face would add anatomy that the account does not resolve. The illustration treats the clothing, fare exchange and ordinary taxi as reported motifs while leaving the passenger's identity and the unusual banknote unverified.
