Case description
A short report places an encounter near Carnegie, Oklahoma, on 5 December 1973, approximately 21:25–21:30. The preserved narrative identifies one observer as Mr Cornelison and says that he and two other men were sitting in a car when an unusual figure approached them. David Webb's later catalogue and INTCAT trace the report to the Tulsa World of 6 December 1973.
The features actually retained are distinctive but limited: the figure wore red trousers and something resembling a welder's face mask, and lights flashed on its body. The digest does not supply a reliable view of its face, biological anatomy, exact equipment or the observers' conversation. Another man reportedly described a figure and a glowing white light farther down a side road. The surviving summary does not establish a resolved vehicle or demonstrate that the light carried the approaching figure.
The case belongs to the cluster of press-reported humanoid stories of late 1973, but that context is not evidence of a common origin. A welder-type mask should not be converted into a confirmed spacesuit, and an unidentified glow should not become a detailed flying saucer. The original newspaper testimony has not been recovered here in full, leaving witness independence, duration and follow-up uncertain. The illustration therefore shows the reported clothing and flashing lights with an unresolved distant glow.
