A man driving a truck east of Medicine Hat, Alberta, reportedly had an extraordinary roadside experience on December 31, 1973, around 10:30 p.m. The account is attributed to John Brent Musgrave’s UFO Occupants and Critters, page 20, by later catalogues. The original witness statement and a securely identified contemporary local article were not recovered during this review, so the narrative remains dependent on that catalogue chain. The driver first noticed a bright revolving light behind him in his rear-view mirror. He then reportedly saw an approximately eight-foot-tall man in a white astronautlike outfit running along the roadside ditch and keeping pace with the truck, allegedly near sixty miles an hour. The figure was said to touch the vehicle’s hood and roof. Retellings disagree on the ending: one describes a flash and disappearance, another says the truck eventually outdistanced it. The rotating light was not described as a resolved spacecraft, and no reliable source establishes the runner’s facial anatomy or a link to other Medicine Hat creature reports. It does not add a landed saucer, collision damage, recovered footprints or independently measured speed.
