Case description
The surviving catalogue account places this encounter near Chalon-sur-Saône, France, during February 1974, at approximately 3 p.m. Four police officers were reportedly in a wooded area when they encountered several short, humanlike figures. The compressed source gives neither the officers' names nor an exact day or identified woodland.
According to the same account, the small figures ran toward a saucer-shaped object that was already on the ground. They entered through an open hatch, after which the object departed rapidly. That sequence—officers, figures, hatch and departing vehicle—is the substance of the report. The accessible summary supplies no dialogue, detailed faces, spacesuit description, measurements or physical traces.
Albert Rosales's compilation attributes the account to Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon's French UFO dossier, under catalogue number HC 2414. A cited secondary catalogue is not equivalent to an independently obtained police incident report. The plate therefore preserves the four observers and the described activity, while marking clothing, faces, vehicle construction and the exact setting as interpretive. The imported locality's 'Straight & Level Flight' phrase is an abbreviation-expansion artifact, not part of the place name.
