Ipaucu, Brz being encounter — 1974

Lucia and Edison described a strange drive near Ipauçu after leaving a cinema in February 1974. Irene Granchi's account places it around 11:15 p.m., differing from the ledger's 10:30 p.m. They visited an all-night filling station on the Raposo Tavares Highway, then encountered a muddy parallel road near a cemetery, eucalyptus trees and roadworks. A row of large old-fashioned cars looked unexpectedly new, with human outlines walking alongside them. Returning roughly five minutes later, they found the cars gone. Near the cemetery wall, with the engine off and brakes applied, the front wheels of their car reportedly lifted about thirty centimetres and dropped three times. Lucia opened her door during the third episode and felt intense cold, although she saw nothing immediately outside. Edison was described as having his hair standing on end. As they drove away, Lucia saw a small fluorescent silvery-white figure wearing a hat or helmet and a cape; its face, hands and feet were not visible. The couple later claimed an unexplained time discrepancy of approximately thirty minutes and damage to the car's electrical system. The ledger instead summarizes twenty minutes. Hypnosis reportedly failed to produce further memories. No spacecraft was described, and the account does not establish that the couple were taken aboard anything.
