Case description
At about 1:45 a.m. on March 15, 1974, a man and his fiancée were reportedly parked beside the rocky shore near Erbalunga, Corsica, with their car radio playing. They noticed three small figures on the roadside bank, only a few metres away. The figures appeared smooth, leaned forward and had unusually long arms; detailed faces and clothing were not discerned.
The frightened driver reversed and damaged his car before stopping farther away. His fiancée then reported a luminous, pyramid-shaped object rising from the rocks about 120 metres distant. The description gives a bright yellow base, black band and orange point directed diagonally downward. The radio reportedly failed as the object departed. No traces were found when the area was revisited.
The account appeared in Lumières dans la Nuit 157 in 1976, more than two years after the stated encounter. A short newspaper version incorrectly shifted the year to 1976. Patrick Gross's dossier also preserves doubts recorded by French catalogue compilers; these are not a demonstrated hoax confession. The plate explicitly combines successive observations rather than claiming the nearby figures were seen boarding the pyramid.
