Case description
Guillermo Rodríguez Riesco, a forty-seven-year-old restaurant owner, reported an encounter while fishing on the River Esla near the monastery of Moreruela, Benavente, on March 28, 1974, around 5 p.m. Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos’s catalogue cites original information from his own files and José-Tomás Ramírez y Barberó, as well as Lumières dans la Nuit 144. His hunting dogs first drew his attention to something unusual.
At an estimated 150–200 metres, Rodríguez said he saw a hunched, white plasticlike figure about two metres tall. It had a rounded head and neck but no visible arms, and appeared to roll or glide silently while grass concealed its lower portion. When he urged the dogs toward it, it moved uphill. He fetched a military-officer cousin who had been fishing elsewhere; on their return the figure was gone.
They reportedly found intermittent narrow tracks following its route for roughly 100–150 metres, ending abruptly. A weight estimate and subsequent illness are reported claims, not laboratory confirmation of a machine. No craft was described. The illustration includes the fisherman, dogs and distant armless form in the riverside landscape, with its lower body concealed, without inventing a spacecraft or visible wheels.
