Paraipaba, Brz being encounter — May 1974

In May 1974, fishermen Manoel P. Juca and Pedro were moving along the Atlantic coast near Paraipaba, Ceará, when Manoel looked behind them and noticed three men beside a jeep-like vehicle at the water’s edge. The men were about forty yards away. The two fishermen concealed themselves and watched rather than approaching or speaking to the strangers. According to the account attributed to Bob Pratt, the three dark-clothed men repeatedly ran together into the sea and back to the vehicle. They appeared wet and seemed to be measuring something with a rope. The witnesses described approximately five such trips and an observation lasting about three minutes. They reported no conversation or other sound from the activity. The strangers then entered the jeep-like object, which travelled into the ocean and disappeared. The unusual feature is the reported vehicle’s disappearance into the sea, not a described aerial flight or a clearly observed alien body. The figures were humanlike men in dark clothing; the available summary supplies no distinctive nonhuman anatomy, insignia or protective equipment.
