Case description
Three railway dispatchers at Tandil reportedly saw a luminous figure outside their office late on June 25, 1974. Hatch places the observation at 11:50 p.m.; the fuller HUMCAT-derived account gives approximately 11:45. The compact entry describes the figure looking through the window toward a stove inside the room.
In the expanded account, its face appeared white and phosphorescent, with dark goggles beneath a close-fitting silver helmet. A small beard was said to move or oscillate. A silver breastplate and coloured, zigzagging flashes around the sides completed the unusual appearance. The figure lowered out of view beneath the window, accompanied by red, yellow and green flashes. When the employees went outside, nobody was there. Small circular impressions, reportedly about half an inch deep, were subsequently mentioned, although the available account supplies no independent examination of them.
The fuller catalogue cites Jorge Bruno of OTIFE, while Hatch names a CIFEX group and marks the original periodical as unknown or lost. A separate story about two motorcyclists encountering a similar figure on the following night must remain a distinct episode. Neither version establishes that the dispatchers saw a spacecraft. Coloured light associated with the figure is the basis for the light classification, rather than an observed vehicle.
