Case description
This Atlas entry places an unusual light report northeast of Hubbards, Nova Scotia, on August 3, 1974, at about 12:30 a.m. The retained Hatch summary describes a broad red beam coming from the woods and lighting two men on a road. A bright blue ovoid, estimated at nine metres, then passed. The surviving wording does not establish a duration, altitude, route or measured distance.
An important ambiguity concerns the two men. Although the database includes a humanlike-entity classification, its actual sentence can be read as two people on the road being illuminated. It does not clearly say that these men emerged from the object or were occupants. No separate being, unusual anatomy, conversation or physical contact is described. The illustration therefore treats the two men as observers and adds no alien passenger.
The provenance cites Don Ledger's Maritime UFO Files, published by Nimbus in 1998. The book's identity can be verified bibliographically, but the exact passage was not retrieved during this research. The compact reference's index number is not treated as a verified page citation. Until the fuller account is available, the red beam, blue ovoid and two roadside figures remain the supported core; witness appearance, road layout and surrounding woodland in the plate are contextual choices.
