Case description
The fuller published account places Mme G., aged fifty-three, alone at home in Malesherbes at about 3:40 a.m. on 16 August 1974. Unable to sleep in the heat, she opened a window and saw an oblique beam illuminating a neighbouring house. Its origin was hidden behind a small building. About ten metres away, near grass level, she noticed two small, dull steel-coloured, lens-like lights, compared in spacing and size to spectacles. Feeling watched and frightened, she returned to bed.
Over subsequent months she reported fatigue and a succession of private anomalous experiences: an apparent invisible push, noises, a human shadow, moving or displaced objects and movements of her bed or bedding. These later events were reported when she was alone. She associated them with African masks in the house and said the disturbances ended after their removal; that association does not establish a cause.
A major source conflict affects this record. Rosales’s later summary describes a giant cigar, two saucers and multiple witnesses, citing Figuet and Ruchon. Patrick Gross reproduces the cited account and shows that it instead concerns one woman, a beam and two small lights. The plate follows that fuller account and keeps the later phenomena separate.
