Case description
On the evening of October 9, 1974, two thirteen-year-old boys reported an unsettling experience along Ploughley Road between Ambrosden and Lower Arncott, near Bicester, Oxfordshire. They said that a large hunched, manlike figure had followed them, accompanied by a light in the sky. The catalogue places the episode around 9 p.m.
The boys went to the Ministry of Defence Police office at the Central Ordnance Depot. A later research appeal describes them as frightened and says that officers attended to them. A dog and handler reportedly searched the area without finding the figure. One boy was subsequently described as having been diagnosed with severe shock. Neither the figure nor the sky light was reported to make a sound.
The available source is a retrospective appeal seeking the original participants and police testimony, not the complete police file itself. Even the quoted distance is inconsistent: a quarter mile is accompanied by an incorrect metric equivalent. The plate therefore avoids fixing a precise separation or detailed anatomy. It shows the boys at a safe distance from a hunched silhouette and an unresolved overhead light. No craft landing, onboard journey, or physical seizure is supplied by this account.
