Case description
Two civilian observers at Cagliari reportedly watched an elongated object stop above a building at about 6:20 p.m. on November 10, 1974. Hatch’s entry describes a cylindrical or cigar-like vehicle with an illuminated interior. It is one of the accounts traced to Maurizio Verga’s Italian close-encounter catalogue, ITACAT.
The distinctive detail is the arrangement of four square windows. Five figures were reportedly moving between them, visible against the light inside. The summary does not give their height, exposed facial appearance, skin colour or clothing. Movement in a lit cabin is the basis for the occupant interpretation, rather than a reported meeting with figures on the ground. Nothing in the surviving entry describes anyone leaving the object or approaching the observers.
The available ledger preserves a compact catalogue abstract, not a reproduced interview or a contemporary newspaper article identifying the witnesses and building. The object’s dimensions, observation duration and subsequent path are not established there. These limits prevent a responsible expansion into a detailed alien encounter. The plate therefore follows the documented window count and five backlit silhouettes while leaving their anatomy unresolved, and treats the surrounding streetscape as illustrative.
