Case description
Dairy farmer William Bosak, sixty-eight, reported an encounter while driving home from a farmers' co-operative meeting near Frederic, Wisconsin, on December 2, 1974. At about 10:30 p.m., roughly a mile from his farm, his headlights illuminated a stationary object beside the road. Fog hid its lower portion. The upper part, eight to ten feet high overall, included a curved transparent front tapering to a bullet-like peak.
Inside he saw a figure with both arms raised. Hair projected from the sides of its head and outer arms; its ears were high-set and calf-like. The face and chin lacked a beard. Its tan-brown covering resembled a fitted diver's suit, with no visible collar or front seam. Frightened, Bosak accelerated. He described his car interior becoming dark and a swishing noise. Later versions disagree over whether the engine faltered; Rodeghier's catalogue says it remained unaffected.
Bosak returned the next morning. The original APRO account reports no landing evidence, while a later interview adds flattened vegetation. He kept the story private for nearly a month before APRO investigator Everett Lightner interviewed him. The ledger's hoax flag is not supported by a recovered confession or demonstrated staging. The account remains uncorroborated, and later descriptions of a Bigfoot pilot or an overtly bovine face should not replace the more specific original testimony.
