Case description
At about 04:30 on 12 March 1975, people fishing from a boat off Punta Ocoa, in the Azua area of the Dominican Republic, reportedly saw an object approaching over the sea. Leonte N. Objio and Richard W. Heiden included the event as case 6 in their survey of Dominican humanoid reports in APRO Bulletin volume 30, number 1. This is a later published account of the 1975 observation, rather than a contemporaneous photograph or instrument record.
The witnesses described a two-part object. A broad disc seemed to encircle the base of a very transparent, slightly hemispherical dome illuminated from within. When it stopped overhead, they allegedly saw two silhouettes inside the dome. The forms appeared humanoid and seemed to wear bulky helmets. Their movements suggested that they were working at controls, although the report does not identify actual machinery or explain how its function was determined. The object subsequently departed out to sea; the ledger gives a fast southward departure.
The accessible APRO paragraph does not name the fishers, give their number, specify the boat's position or dimensions, or describe the figures' faces. Those omissions limit any reconstruction. There is no reported landing, boarding, conversation or contact with the occupants. The plate therefore keeps the beings as helmeted silhouettes within the illuminated dome, and uses representative fishers and a contextual boat without treating their invented likenesses as historical evidence.
