Case description
WBMJ disc jockey Willy López reportedly experienced this incident while working in a rooftop studio in Miramar, San Juan, on April 6, 1975. Around 10:45 p.m., three knocks sounded against a window overlooking the terrace. He also glimpsed a luminous figure moving outside, where access was restricted.
Drawing back a curtain, he described a steadily glowing white or yellow-white saucer above a nearby cooling tower, roughly sixty feet away. He estimated its width at forty feet and its height above the structure at three or four feet. It appeared to rock gently while remaining almost stationary. Terrified, López shut the curtain, interrupted the music and described his experience to listeners.
A friend arrived, and they investigated the terrace after the object had disappeared. They reportedly found the waterproofed roof unusually hot and sticky. Later retellings differ over the building’s name and details of the immediate aftermath. Jorge Martín also describes an earlier station publicity campaign inviting extraterrestrial contact, which supplies context without proving the sighting staged or genuine. No resolved facial description of the luminous figure is preserved, and neither its identity nor a causal connection between the object and roof condition was established.
