Case description
On the evening of 14 July 1975, two men walking from Saint-Julien-la-Brousse toward Lamastre, Ardèche, reportedly noticed a humanlike form ahead of them. The ledger gives approximately 10 p.m.; the fuller catalogue places the incident around 10:30. The figure seemed to wear luminous clothing that changed from dark to white and appeared to glide above the road.
When it turned to look back, the men hid. It disappeared around a bend, then returned toward them, prompting them to hurry into the village and seek shelter. The roadside observation reportedly lasted about a minute. Afterwards, while sitting on a closed café's terrace, they described a separate red-orange luminous hemisphere rising with a glowing smoke-like trail. That aerial phase lasted roughly three minutes, with dogs barking nearby.
The catalogue attributes the investigation to material involving Mr. Fournier and later Alain Gamard, while the imported ledger cites Figuet and Ruchon's 1979 French compilation. No boarding or direct physical link between the figure and the later light was observed. The unusual departure should therefore remain a subsequent sighting, not be turned into the figure entering a resolved spacecraft. The plate is explicitly a composite of the consecutive phases, with the face and mechanics left unresolved.
