Case description
On 7 October 1975, carpenter Robert Suffern drove out near Three Mile Lake after his sister telephoned about a glow she feared was a barn fire. He reportedly encountered a small, unlit object resting on a cottage road. It was approximately twelve to fourteen feet across, with a dull, irregular aluminium-like surface, a broad base and a dark band. It rose vertically above the trees without visible exhaust or dust.
Driving home, Suffern said he nearly struck a short figure on the road. Its disproportionately broad shoulders were covered by a crumpled-foil-looking silver suit, and a paler spherical helmet concealed its head. The figure took several steps and vaulted over a fence into pasture. After reaching home, Suffern reported another departing light and television interruption. The craft and roadside figure were successive observations, not a witnessed exit from a hatch.
Early newspaper coverage and Henry McKay’s HUMCAT/Skylook report preserve the basic encounter. Later accounts add alleged visits from men claiming military authority and extraordinary statements about government cooperation with aliens. Those unsupported additions require separate scrutiny and do not verify the October event. The location is associated with Bracebridge and Utterson in different catalogues. The plate combines the two principal observations explicitly, keeping the reported helmet, broad shoulders and small clam-like craft rather than inventing a visible grey face.
