Case description
Mr and Mrs M reported a close observation near Llangothlin, New South Wales, while returning from an Inverell dog show on October 19, 1975, around 6 p.m. Bryan Dickeson and Moira McGhee investigated after notification in June 1989, saying the couple had retained contemporaneous notes and drawings. The magazine cover gives October 20, while its article supports the Sunday date through dog-show records.
They described a silvery cigar-shaped object with short thick wings pacing their Ford station wagon. Through its large cockpit window they saw two seated operators and three standing, ordinary humanlike figures in silver overalls. A shorter brown-haired figure appeared female, smiled, pointed and waved; coloured panel lights were visible. Their Samoyed became agitated. The man stopped and reportedly filmed the hovering object before it moved away.
The claimed footage was absent when the developed film returned. The investigation did not establish who removed it or verify a cover-up; its absence also prevents image analysis of the craft. The plate shows representative motorists, their dog, the reported winged cylinder and five humanlike occupants, with geometry approximate. The verified video link discusses this exact encounter within a broader compilation; it is a retelling, not recovered sighting footage.
