Case description
At about 2:30 a.m. on October 27, 1975, David Stephens and a companion were travelling near Tripp Pond outside Oxford, Maine, when an unusual object reportedly approached their car. The account describes the car coming under its influence and moving along West Poland Road, with a craft ahead of them and small figures appearing nearby.
The fuller account of what happened next was given during hypnosis. Stephens described being inside a metal room while his friend, identified as Glenn, remained visible in the car through a window. A small figure approached, reassured him, and led him to a room containing a table and several other figures.
Stephens recalled blood being drawn and being asked to undress for an examination. He said that he resisted and struck one of the figures, which moved back and again reassured him. He subsequently described complying with the examination. The compressed catalogue also mentions biological samples and the removal of a clothing button.
The surviving summaries do not give an equally detailed, continuous account of the return to the road. The roadside sighting and interruption, and the more extensive interior narrative recovered later, are therefore kept distinct. This Tripp Pond record and the parallel Oxford listing concern the same Stephens account, rather than two independent abductions.
