Case description
Ten-year-old Jean-Claude Silvente's January 6, 1976 report at Domène followed an alleged encounter the previous evening. On January 5 he said he had seen a bell-shaped object and a very tall figure near a vacant lot. He described long blond hair, a luminous white outfit, green circles on the backs of the hands and arms extended straight forward. When he sneezed, the figure reportedly turned toward him and he ran home.
On January 6, around 6 p.m., the boy was again returning with milk when he claimed that the same figure appeared only about twelve feet away, with its arms held in the same unusual position. He spilled the milk and fled. His sister and her boyfriend, who were behind him, did not see the figure. Their presence therefore cannot be treated as independent confirmation of that close encounter.
A later phase involved the boy, his mother, his seventeen-year-old sister and her boyfriend together. All four reportedly saw a red headlight-like light descend from the sky, prompting them to run toward the police station. The source trail includes Michel Lévy's report in Lumières dans la Nuit and later catalogues. The January 6 light was not described with the January 5 bell's structural detail; the plate preserves that distinction. A separate January 8 sighting by another adolescent is not part of this record.
