Case description
Vicente Corell Cerdá and Carmen Civera Sales reported an unusual roadside figure while driving from the Marines military training centre toward Olocau on March 14, 1976. Catalogue times differ. A later investigator's review reconstructs a route beginning around 9:45 p.m. and documents interviews in 1983–84 plus a nighttime site reconstruction.
They first noticed a distant oval light, which they thought might be vehicle lights. Later, a human-looking figure appeared on an elevated bank left of the road. Its dark suit had a bulky, horizontally ridged upper portion and close-fitting legs. Carmen recalled two head-level lights; Vicente described one like a miner's lamp. Its face was unresolved. The apparent floating or hopping movement became a central feature of later retellings.
As their Renault 4 passed, its lighting failed with a spark and burning smell, while the engine and battery continued working. Other motorists helped them onward. The investigator reports a repaired short circuit in the lighting wiring, rather than a complete engine stoppage. He discusses a person in padded clothes, obscured feet on the bank and an ordinary electrical failure as economical explanations, while noting the couple's sincerity and the influence of repeated UFO interviews. No craft or clearly nonhuman anatomy was established. The plate follows the reported roadside appearance without treating apparent levitation as proven.
