Case description
Sidney Walker, a thirty-three-year-old resident of São Gonçalo, Brazil, reportedly disappeared on June 14, 1976, after leaving a nearby café where he had bought cigarettes. Later reports connect his disappearance with a light directed toward him and with his eventual discovery in the Natal area, far to the north.
Gordon Creighton's account in Flying Saucer Review drew on July 1976 reports in the Rio newspaper O Dia. It describes a café acquaintance who said that he saw the light and tried unsuccessfully to reach Walker. Walker's family searched for him before receiving a letter from Natal; he was subsequently located in a confused condition, with incomplete recollection of the intervening journey.
These are linked accounts of a disappearance, an alleged observation, and a later recovery, rather than a continuously witnessed flight. The route, mechanism of travel, and any onboard experience are not established by the available summaries. The illustration represents the reported initial light without turning later interpretations into observed facts.
