On September 3, 1976, two women aged sixty-three and eighteen were walking home in Fencehouses, County Durham. BUFORA places the event around nine in the evening in cool, dry weather. Near waste ground associated with a mine shaft, they noticed an oval object on metal runners and approached.
They estimated it at five feet long and three feet high, with a glasslike body and orange upper section. The older woman said its side felt warm. She also reported that wind and nearby traffic sounds ceased as they drew close.
Two doll-sized occupants appeared inside, with long white hair, large eyes and clawlike hands. The frightened women withdrew. Ordinary street noise reportedly returned, and the object departed rapidly with a humming sound. Their watches allegedly stopped during the encounter and resumed afterward.
BUFORA describes roughly ten minutes; the imported catalogue instead mentions thirty minutes of missing time. Neither establishes a remembered journey aboard. The older witness later claimed she could not insert a vacuum-cleaner plug, another alleged aftereffect without an instrument test. The duration discrepancy and reported oddities do not establish an abduction.

LANDINGS, HUMANOIDS & ONBOARD ENCOUNTERS: TEN TRUE CASES
Preserve the BUFORA ten-minute versus imported missing-time duration differences and uncertain family relationship. Vacuum-plug aftereffect and alleged silencing are unverified claims; no remembered onboard journey is established.
