Vargem Grande, Brz abduction report — September 9, 1976

At Vargem Grande, Brazil, a man reported a close encounter on September 9, 1976, involving a small saucer-shaped object approximately 3 metres across. The account describes the object lowering four cables toward the ground. A small humanoid figure came down from the object and placed a loop or hook around the man’s leg. The man struggled and managed to shake himself free. The incident was remembered as an effort to lift or take him rather than as an account of a completed journey inside the object. The preserved sequence ends with his escape from the attachment. It does not identify the man, describe a conversation or say how the object finally departed. The unusual combination of a very small saucer, four lowered cables and an attachment placed around the witness’s leg gives this report its distinctive form.
