Case description
Two people travelling by car near Ragusa reportedly encountered a green-glowing form around 1:30 a.m. on 18 September 1976. The surviving summary says the form followed their vehicle for approximately one and a half kilometres. A flying sphere was also seen nearby at an estimated altitude of twenty metres.
Hatch attributes the report to Maurizio Verga's ITACAT, the Italian catalogue of close encounters. The accessible abstract does not name the occupants, specify their route or explain whether the sphere and pursuing form remained in view simultaneously. It calls the form a being but supplies no height, facial features, limbs, clothing or described means of propulsion. The green appearance is a reported glow, not an identified skin colour or material.
The record carries a vehicle-effects classification without preserving a specific malfunction. No boarding, communication or physical contact is described. Other Ragusa cases from 1977 and 1978 involve different dates and details and should not be merged into this one. The reconstruction therefore retains two anonymous motorists, an indistinct green silhouette and a separate sphere. Their exact spatial arrangement is illustrative, and no conventional saucer or grey anatomy is added to compensate for the source's brevity.
