Case description

Physician Leopoldo Díaz Martínez reported an unusual consultation at his Guadalajara office in 1976. The catalogue gives October 28 at about 10 a.m.; a fuller account attributes November 28, around noon, to the doctor’s own written statement. The date difference remains part of the source history. Díaz said that a short, very pale, nearly bald man in the waiting room requested a physical examination. The patient appeared about fifty but said that he was eighty-five. The doctor described unusually smooth skin and apparently healthy responses during the examination. According to Díaz, the man then said that he was not from Earth and gave a name rendered as Yap or Jap Sombiet. Their conversation covered energy, astronomy, environmental damage, religion and the future of humanity. The visitor warned about the misuse of nuclear energy and urged people to find better sources of power. These statements are the patient’s reported message, not results of a medical examination establishing his origin. The visitor said they would meet again and left. Díaz initially told relatives and friends, then circulated an account and discussed it with researchers and officials. No craft, arrival or departure was observed in the consultation narrative; its central event is the doctor’s reported conversation with the unusual patient.
