Case description
During the early hours of November 12, 1976, three Spanish Air Force sentries at Talavera la Real reported a disturbing sequence near the base’s fuel-storage area. The account identifies José Manuel Trejo, Juan Carrizosa and José Hidalgo. A piercing whistle and a brief brilliant light preceded their search of the area with a German shepherd.
The men described unusual disturbance around eucalyptus trees and a dog repeatedly returning from that direction. Trejo then reported a towering green humanoid appearance, approximately three metres tall, made up of luminous points, with long outstretched arms and indistinct lower limbs. He collapsed; his companions said they fired at the apparition before it disappeared. Later versions emphasize that cartridge cases and bullet impacts could not be found.
Spain’s Ministry of Defence preserves a 28-page file, declassified in November 1996, concerning the reported incident. Its existence establishes an official documentary history, rather than confirming the figure’s nature. No structured spacecraft forms part of the core account: the reported phenomena were the initial light, sounds, luminous figure and the sentries’ reactions.
