Case description
Barbara Street and her young son were the principal witnesses in a garden encounter reported at Huyton in early 1977. Most catalogues give January, while one later source uses February. Hatch's noon/silver shorthand also differs from fuller versions giving late afternoon and a white suit. The son's age varies between eleven and twelve.
Sent to empty rubbish, he reportedly noticed a large head among bushes and hurried indoors. Barbara investigated and described a well-built figure about nine feet tall, wearing a white suit and visor-covered helmet. She initially suspected a prank and shouted at it, but it merely stared. After she retreated, she reportedly watched it float toward the house. A woman friend and male visitors subsequently confronted it before retreating themselves.
A fuller Fishwick-derived account adds that Barbara and one visitor looked from upstairs; the figure pointed an indistinct item, followed by a recollection gap and unusual calmness. Two police officers allegedly approached and saw it vanish. Their supposed reluctance to file a report is part of the story, not an independently verified police finding.
No craft was described. Later visits by a man claiming alien connections belong to a separate aftermath, not proof of the original figure's identity. INTCAT cites Brian Fishwick's investigation in NUFON News 60 alongside later books; the located material contains no authenticated photograph or named officers' statements. The plate contextually groups the family and police before the reported disappearance, leaving facial anatomy concealed.
