Case description
Seventeen-year-old Stephen Taylor reportedly encountered an unusual object while walking home from his girlfriend's near Llethr and Brawdy, Wales, in March 1977. Fuller accounts place the event on 13 March, around 9 p.m.; the imported record gives 17 March, apparently the date of the Western Telegraph report. After an initial glowing oval sighting near Hendre Bridge, he continued along a country lane.
At about 9:30, he noticed that the usual Brawdy airbase lights were blocked from view through a field gateway. Beyond it sat a large domed object, estimated at nine to twelve meters across and six meters high, with a faint glow around the edge. A figure about six feet tall approached from the right. Taylor described a hairless head, high cheekbones, unusually large eyes and a zipped suit that looked transparent without actually being so. A rectangular device covered the mouth, with a tube running over the left shoulder.
Taylor said he panicked, swung without making clear contact and fled. At home his normally friendly dog growled at him; it behaved normally the following day. No traces were found in the field. Randall Jones Pugh's investigation is cited, but the figure's origin and any causal explanation for the dog's reaction remain unestablished.
