Case description
Before dawn on April 25, 1977, a military guard near Putre in northern Chile reportedly approached unusual lights seen near his group’s position. The catalogue gives a time of about 3:50 a.m. and describes an interruption in which the guard was absent for roughly fifteen minutes.
When he returned, his companions were said to notice a beard appearing longer than expected, while his watch reportedly displayed April 30 rather than April 25. Those details became central to accounts of the episode and to the suggestion that his experience had lasted longer than the time observed by the other men.
The preserved entry does not describe a witnessed boarding, a craft interior or a continuous account from the guard of where he had been. Its original reference is International UFO Reporter, volume 2, number 7. The fifteen-minute absence and the beard and watch claims are the reported sequence; a journey lasting five days is not separately described.
