Geraldo da Costa reportedly encountered an oval object while riding home near Baldim on a night in May 1977. It passed very low, with coloured lights and intense heat. Continuing along the track, he allegedly found it on the ground. The fuller Rosales account, citing Bob Pratt, describes two small men with long hair and large eyes. One asked for help and then touched his shoulder. Da Costa remembered being separated from his horse, which ran away, calling for help and losing awareness. He was reportedly found the following day in a bamboo grove. Later descriptions mention an arm mark, several small puncture-like wounds, difficulty speaking and a prolonged loss of energy.
