Off LA Caleta, Dom.rep being encounter — June 24, 1977

At about 1 a.m. on June 24, 1977, a motorist identified as A. S. Cruz was returning from Santo Domingo along the Las Américas highway near La Caleta. He reported a luminous object above the sea with a tube extending from its underside into the water. He interpreted the activity as water being drawn upward. After he stopped to watch, the object reportedly approached the coast. Cruz described two figures visible through windows. His vehicle then malfunctioned, and he experienced numbness in his legs. The account subsequently introduces a second object and dark, tube-like or cylindrical forms associated with the objects before their departure. The objects’ exact configuration is not consistently clear in the compressed retellings. The claimed water collection, vehicle trouble and numbness belong to Cruz’s testimony; the summaries provide no recovered water sample or instrument record.
