Belem, Brz being encounter — 1977

This record summarizes a wave of reports around Belém and the Pará coast in Brazil during 1977 rather than one dated encounter with a being. The imported account describes recurring lights or objects moving across the region, including reports of movement over coastal waters, alongside a visible military presence. The wider wave became associated with Operação Prato, the Brazilian Air Force's investigation of unusual light reports. Archival material includes observation logs, interviews, sketches, and correspondence concerning Belém, Colares, and neighboring localities. Those constituent reports have their own dates and witnesses; they should not be collapsed into a single continuous scene. The linked 1997 interview records Uyrangê Hollanda's retrospective account of his role in the operation. It is relevant to this series record while remaining distinct from contemporary field documentation. The plate depicts a coastal observation setting with lights and observers. The short catalogue summary itself does not establish an individual occupant encounter or identify the origin of the objects.
