Case description
Ethel May Field reported an encounter while taking washing from the garden clothesline at her home in Parkstone, Poole, Dorset, in late September 1977. Around 11 p.m., a humming sound drew her attention to a round, greyish object with a dome approaching above the houses.
She described intense blue-yellow light around its lower edge and two humanlike figures visible through the dome. One appeared to operate controls while the other looked toward her and gestured. Field raised her hands to shield her eyes, felt heat, and briefly noticed vibration underfoot. She ran inside, and the object reportedly left toward the northwest.
The account later associated irritation on her palms with the encounter, but the short catalogue's burn wording should not replace the fuller description or establish a cause. Leslie Harris investigated and published the case in Flying Saucer Review. The image represents the garden observation, with the light and occupants reconstructed and no injury depicted.
