Seventy-four-year-old farmer Luis Sandoval told a Puerto Rican newspaper that a small visitor appeared near Corozal in September 1977. A fuller version places the incident on September 4 at about 3:30 p.m.: while resting in a hammock, he felt drawn toward a nearby hill, heard a bang and saw a flash associated with a blue, candle-shaped light.
He described a figure no more than about one metre tall, with a round face, pronounced nostrils, pointed ears and large lips around a small mouth. That version gives it a jacket and small tie. The visitor allegedly spoke Spanish, reassured him and examined parts of his body before withdrawing and disappearing in a flash or flame with an aircraft-like sound. Sandoval described no missing interval.
El Vocero published the story on September 19; some later catalogues use that publication date as the event date. Other versions replace the blue light with green flame and the jacket with a white gown. The newspaper-derived account is not an independently documented examination, and no solid spacecraft geometry is established. The illustration follows the detailed jacket-and-tie variant and shows the luminous form rather than inventing a metallic vessel or an invasive procedure.
