Case description
At approximately 10 p.m. on 6 October 1977, a woman identified as C.C. was looking from a second-floor window of Sant’Antonio Hospital in Fiesole, where she was visiting the paediatric ward. She first noticed a diffuse, moon-sized red light above the hills beyond Florence. Two similar lights appeared close behind it; all three descended obliquely while pulsating. When she opened the window, two disappeared and the remaining light seemed to settle in a field near a small grove toward San Domenico.
She called others, and two women joined her. The remaining light alternated between deep red and silvery white, with phases lasting approximately fifteen to twenty seconds. Against the brighter white area they thought they could distinguish two small humanlike figures moving slowly along the edge of a luminous disc. The figures were no longer visible during its red phase. The women watched for around fifteen minutes before retiring.
C.C. reported renewed or continuing light in the same area around 5 a.m., fading by approximately 5:45; her son also observed this later phase. The SUF/CUN account does not resolve faces, clothing or mechanical construction. Rosales’s later version places the figures apparently inside; the original speaks of movement along the edge. The plate retains this uncertainty and separates the earlier three-light and dawn phases.
