Case description
The fuller Meekatharra account is dated 16 October 1977 at approximately 14:10. Keith Basterfield's catalogue says at least twelve people watched a metallic disc rise from a nearby rocky outcrop in Western Australia. As it lifted, vapor appeared to roll down the rock. The object had domes both above and below its disc-shaped body and a smooth silver appearance.
A smaller bright red light reportedly emerged from its side and hovered before shooting away. The larger silver object then rose and disappeared. These are the features retained in the reconstruction. The available synopsis does not supply occupants, facial features, communication or a direct witness-object interaction. Claims that the report was investigated by the RAAF and remained unidentified appear in the period ufological summary; unidentified status would not itself establish an extraterrestrial vehicle.
The figure component of the imported entry appears to conflate another report. The APRO April 1979 survey explicitly moves from Meekatharra on 16 October to Mount Magnet on the following day, where eight people investigated red and green lights near the rubbish dump. In that separate episode, Mr Freestone described misty, roughly human-sized shapes that disappeared under a spotlight. Those figures should not be inserted beside Meekatharra's daylight disc. The plate therefore labels the absence of entities in the recovered Meekatharra account and keeps the two locations, dates and witness groups separate.
