Case description

An account collected by Jacques Vallée describes an elderly Indigenous ranch resident near Colusa, California, reporting repeated visits by a small humanoid. The Atlas dates one entry October 18, 1977, around 1:30 a.m.; the accessible fuller retelling gives only October 1977 at night. It says the witness believed similar encounters had occurred almost annually for about twenty years. A small, illuminated object resembling an airplane was reportedly seen landing near the ranch cabin. A figure approximately three and a half feet tall emerged. The witness described long hair, a prominent curved nose, a brown one-piece suit and an unpleasant odour. It allegedly entered the cabin without using an ordinary opening, floated just above the floor and moved away rapidly without a normal walking motion. Other people’s lights-in-the-sky reports from the area are related background, not proof they saw the cabin visitor. The published chain leads to Vallée’s Confrontations. Preston Dennett also discusses the Colusa brothers’ repeated reports in a California episode, but that broader retelling should not erase the limited date precision of this particular entry. The plate combines the cabin encounter and reported exterior vehicle as a labelled sequence, using everyday ranch clothing and the distinctive long-haired figure rather than a stereotyped alien appearance.
