On November 2, 1977, a sixteen-year-old identified only by the initials L. C. J. was alone watching television at a relative's home in Joaquim Murtinho, Minas Gerais. He reported a rushing sound and a small luminous object entering through the kitchen. He compared the object with Saturn because of a flat ring around its spherical center.
The device allegedly approached the television and pulled its plug from the socket before moving through other rooms. A tall, human-looking man then appeared, followed outside by a woman and a younger figure. The teenager described close-fitting clothing, gestures and communication he understood as reassurance.
He said the visitors inspected the house, then led him outside to a much larger, domed object. From its entrance he could see additional occupants and instruments inside. The visitors subsequently left in the craft. Returning indoors, he found the television operating again and remained so shaken that he initially had difficulty explaining what had happened. Professor Hulvio Brant Aleixo later investigated the account.
