Case description
A couple in their twenties reportedly noticed a flashing light while driving on the D561 between Fox-Amphoux and Aups on November 13, 1977. The imported record places the episode near 11:30 p.m.; the HUMCAT-derived account gives approximately 11 p.m. After several kilometres they saw the light again near the Logis d’Amphoux crossroads, apparently above the nearby village. They pulled over and watched for about fifteen minutes.
The couple then noticed a small ground-level point of light roughly two hundred metres behind them, resembling someone carrying a flashlight. They turned the car around and drove toward it. At an estimated thirty to fifty metres, they said they saw a phosphorescent white, partly humanlike form about five feet eight inches tall.
The figure had no discernible facial features, arms or legs. It appeared to advance and retreat without maintaining a stable outline. The witnesses compared it to a television image, an important qualification: the account does not describe a clearly visible person in an identifiable suit, or a solid alien body with known anatomy. Frightened, the couple drove away.
The catalogue cites Alain Prigent as its source and preserves the witnesses’ association between the earlier aerial light and the later figure. It does not establish that the form emerged from a craft or that the two observations had a common cause. The illustration is labeled as a sequence composite, showing the couple in their car, an unstable featureless white form and only a distant blinking light, without inventing a detailed saucer.
