The original journal entry matching this Holland report is dated December 15,1976, rather than the imported 1977 year. International UFO Reporter 2(2), February 1977, lists case 2-2-1 and labels the location Holland,Connecticut; HUMCAT and later catalogues place Holland in Massachusetts. The location spelling and state therefore remain a source conflict. A 25-year-old driver said a cigar-shaped object was stationary low in the eastern sky, at an estimated distance of four to five hundred feet. Three or four humanlike forms seemed visible through oval windows. After seven or eight seconds it disappeared in a bright red flash. The car windows were closed, so the absence of heard sound does not establish a silent vehicle. IUR placed it among reports of limited merit, describing a hesitant sole witness who was uncertain about details and raising the possibility of an illusion. It did not identify a confirmed aircraft or establish actual occupants.
