South Ashburnham, Mass being encounter — June 8, 1978

Raymond Fowler's The Watchers describes an observation by Betty Andreasson and her daughter Bonnie on 8 June 1978. The book places them at the family's newer home on Russell Hill Road in Ashburnham, a few miles from their former South Ashburnham home. Its time is 17:35, compared with 17:40 in the imported digest. Looking through a front window, they reportedly noticed two men examining the house and grounds. One was unusually tall, with a pale face, high forehead, black hair and a neatly pressed black suit. His much shorter companion wore a khaki jacket and walked with a shuffling gait. The tall man raised an arm stiffly, apparently without bending his elbow. Betty and Bonnie considered calling police but remained indoors. When traffic approached, the men ducked into bushes, then moved behind a stone wall and sandbank. Two previously hidden cars were subsequently heard or seen driving away. Fowler presents this episode among consciously remembered events. The hypnosis transcript that follows concerns a separate 1973 experience and must not be imported into this driveway account. Neither woman questioned the men, identified them or established that they were nonhuman. No craft or abduction is described here; even the interpretation of surveillance is an inference from their behavior. The illustration therefore shows the two witnesses inside and the two oddly behaving, human-looking men outside, without adding a spacecraft, uniformed officials or features taken from other Andreasson episodes.
