Case description
A 26-year-old security guard reportedly encountered an unusual object during a car patrol inside an industrial property at Corsico, near Milan, in July 1978. Maurizio Verga’s historical account credits local enthusiast Ferdinando Guazzotti with reporting the case. The guard initially thought a dark shape in an open area might involve thieves, stopped his car and watched from concealment.
At a distance of roughly ten metres, he described an object comparable in size to an articulated truck, shaped like an inverted cup with a small dome and supported on three or four pedestals. Two ordinary-looking, average-height individuals in diving-style outfits moved around it, occasionally bending toward the ground. The account says he watched for about two hours. The figures then disappeared from view, and the object rose about a metre, paused and departed vertically.
Verga explicitly questions the reported duration’s coherence with the circumstances. The Atlas gives a compact account and 10 p.m. timing, but the accessible historical treatment supports only a July night. No detailed anatomy or independently tested trace evidence is supplied. The plate retains the industrial setting, observer, two human-looking suited figures and cup-shaped object, while leaving faces and uncertain equipment details subdued.
