Near Cacapava Velha, Brz being encounter — August 1978

During August 1978, tractor driver Benedito Cristóvão da Silva reported a prolonged encounter at São Pedro farm near Caçapava Velha. Beginning work around 1 a.m., he found a human-sized figure in shiny overalls and an opaque helmet on his trailer. It carried a lamp and signalled him to drive. Benedito said its light made him unusually compliant. The stranger accompanied his cattle-feeding round, examined the equipment and handled fodder. After a lapse in awareness, Benedito found himself near the farm entrance beside a hovering, elongated craft. Three additional helmeted figures carried similar lamps. He described coloured perimeter lights, a ladder and being directed to walk around the machine. Another interruption followed an apparent invitation to enter; he did not describe a remembered journey or interior examination. He subsequently found himself beside his tractor, and watched the craft depart near dawn. Walter Bühler’s SBEDV investigation, translated in Flying Saucer Review in 1982, followed a November 1979 newspaper report and two later interviews. The altered awareness is a reported effect during the event, not a story recovered through later hypnosis.
