Case description
On September 6, 1978, twelve-year-old Juan Oscar Pérez was helping with horses on his family's property near Venado Tuerto, Argentina, when he reported strange objects and lights over the fields. His horse became difficult to control, and he returned home. Sent out again to finish the chores, he came upon a landed disc with a dome and windows around its edge.
A tall, helmeted figure emerged and invited him aboard by gesture. Juan tied his horse near the extended ladder and climbed into the object. Inside he described illuminated equipment, a smaller robotlike figure and animal bones being handled or placed in containers.
When the ladder began withdrawing, Juan hurried back outside. He said the taller figure gave him a glove at his request and pricked his arm. As he rode away with the glove, small objects followed him; one recovered it from him before the main craft rose and left.
Jacques Vallée later investigated the account and included it in Confrontations. Decades afterward, director Alan Stivelman revisited Juan and the experience in Witness of Another World. Other reports occurred around Venado Tuerto that month, but the boy's encounter remains a distinct morning sequence. The catalogue's approximately 10 a.m. time differs from fuller accounts placing its opening near 6:45 a.m.
