Case description
On September 10, 1978, at about 4:40 p.m., Miguel Ángel Carbajal and Miguel Ledesma reported an encounter inside the Carbajal family shop at Las Salinas, near San Miguel de Tucumán. Carbajal was almost sixteen and Ledesma twenty-three. Their account reached the press and investigator Jorge Eduardo Catoja; a relative present earlier was not interviewed as an encounter witness.
After television, record-player and radio disturbances, they investigated noises in the shop. They described two roughly one-metre figures in shiny blue, close-fitting suits, dark-blue helmets, blue boots and black gloves. The faces were dark and freckled or pockmarked, with ordinary-looking eyes and mouths. One held a hair-dryer-shaped object. The witnesses reported a threatening message without visible lip movement, repeated disappearances and a thrown cigarette carton.
The men fled and returned with Carbajal’s father and police. Merchandise had been disturbed, but no missing money was reported. Police involvement does not independently establish the extraordinary intruders or their alleged powers. No craft was seen: the reference to a saucer belongs to the reported message, so the interior illustration includes the two employees and described figures without adding a vehicle.
